Saturday, September 28 – Memorial Hall

Noon – 2:00 pm – Mandala and Drum Circle

Artist and Drum circle – Facilitator Trea Jensen will guide you in collaborating with others to create a large 10′ mandala centre piece for a drum circle – participants are asked to bring flowers, twigs, pine cones, rocks, items found in nature, etc. There will be items and shapes present to create the Mandala. Once the Mandala has been created, Trea will teach some African rhythms to enjoy 45min of drumming. Djembe drums provided, bring your own if you have one! Free – no charge

2:00 – 3:30 pm – Wellness Writing Workshop

Facilitator – Shelley Morvik

Writing has been proven to help improve wellbeing. The simple act of creating lists can help to change mindsets while promoting success and accomplishments. In this hour long workshop we will explore a few creative ways to write wellness lists. You do not have to think of yourself as a writer to enjoy this presentation. The aim is to have fun and explore some ways to write with the intent of focusing on our mental and physical wellness. Free – no charge

3:30 – 5:30 pm – Art Collage

Create a beautiful Collage on a 11 x 14 canvas using all sorts of materials and paint. You’ll start with connecting to yourself through a short meditation, scanning your body and emotions. Then you’ll scribble all that down on the canvas using pen, pencil or felt. Then, using magazine clippings, words, paint, and objects(bling, buttons, feathers, etc) you will create a beautiful and interesting collage. It can be abstract or realistic. Artist Trea Jensen will facilitate this workshop. All ages and abilities welcome. Free – no charge

5:30 – 7:00 pm – Chili Supper and International Dessert Bar (Historical Museum)

10:00am – 6:00 pm – Tours of Artists’ Studios and Galleries

There will be a map and bio of all involved. There will be a great number of venues for you to enjoy. Get to know the artists of Eastend, their art and maybe purchase some art to take home. Free – no charge
